A Pre-Theater Dinner to Remember!

Recently, my husband went to Las Vegas for a bachelor party for one of his friends.  Therefore, my best friend (whose fiance was also on the Vegas trip) and I decided to do a girl’s weekend trip!  And of course that meant that we would go visit my aunt in Boca Raton, Florida!

While in Boca, we decided to see Mama Mia at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts.  And with a great show, must also come a great pre-theater dinner.  With regard to my aunt’s suggestion, we chose to go to Canyon in Fort Lauderdale.  And oh my, I’m glad that we did!!

We started off with Prickly Pear Margaritas.  They are seriously as good as they look!  And isn’t the hot pink color gorgeous?

Since this is a tapas style restaurant, we decided to just order one dish after another.  The first that we started off with was the beef tenderloin tacos.  They were incredibly juicy and flavorful.  I selfishly wished that someone passed on them so that I could eat another! 😉

Next up… the macaroni and cheese!  Smokey, cheesy goodness!  So so good!  It doesn’t look like a large portion but it was definitely enough for the three of us to have our fair share.

And to finish off the savory dishes, we had the chicken tostadas.  The goat cheese and avocado sauce paired perfectly with the chicken on these crispy tostadas.  We all agreed that these were our favorite.

And for the grand finale, we had the most scrumptious bread pudding that I have ever had.  The fresh berries that came with this dish were sweet and fresh and they paired perfectly with the creamy white chocolate layered between the warm bread.

This was certainly a dinner to remember!  It definitely kept our bellies full and happy as we made our way to the theater.  If you happen to be in the Fort Lauderdale area, I would highly recommend this restaurant.
